Abstract: Military violence in the latin declamation: a case stu­dy. The following article, after an introduction aimed at defining the prero­ga­tives of the concept of violence, one of the most fruitful narrative categories in the Latin de­clamatory genre, examines the particular case of excerptum 7, a rhetorical exer­cise found in the sylloge attributed to the rhetorician Calpurnius Flaccus whose thematic structure is based on certain elements of military violence.
