Abstract: Military violence in the latin declamation: a case study. The following article, after an introduction aimed at defining the prerogatives of the concept of violence, one of the most fruitful narrative categories in the Latin declamatory genre, examines the particular case of excerptum 7, a rhetorical exercise found in the sylloge attributed to the rhetorician Calpurnius Flaccus whose thematic structure is based on certain elements of military violence.
