 Abstract: Clay plugs from Ibida in Scythia Minor (5th-6th cen­tu­ry): reflections on a little-known typology of the instrumentum in­scrip­tum. In Dobrudja have been found among fifty lids and some matrices with Greek in­scrip­tions or Christian symbols. Here we intend to introduce some unpublished pieces from Ibida and, at the same time, to reflect on the production and diffusion of these objects, which are indeed limited to Scythia Minor and Moesia Secunda, as well as on their practical purposes and on the society that these instrumenta used.
