Abstract: Roman Antiquities on Romanian Postage Stamps During the Communist Regime. Recognizing that postage stamps serve as vehicle for visual messaging endorsed by an issuing state, this paper examines how the Romanian communist regime employed stamp issues depicting Roman antiquities to construct and disseminate its visual propaganda, both within the country and on the international stage.
